Pre-Configuring Features with 3rd Party Services
Some X‑Platform features use capabilities that are supplied by third party service providers and may require pre-configuration for your account.
Cloud-based accounts are automatically integrated with any third party services used by Uniphore according to their license, and typically no added configuration is necessary.
On-premise accounts need to maintain their own accounts with relevant third party service providers and request pre-configuration by Uniphore Support in order to use dependent X‑Platform features.
Features that require third party service configuration are described below.
Telephony Services
The following features use third party service providers:
SMS Campaigns. The Campaign capability allows you to create and maintain a set of campaigns that give your customers access to specific Flows. Each campaign contains a predefined text message that includes a link to the relevant Flow. SMS campaigns are useful for redirecting IVR callers and for sending promotional or explanatory material to existing or potential customers.
DNIS Service Application. DNIS is a dedicated client used for call integration. (For example, DNIS can be the call handling method used when a customer presses the Call button during a Flow.) Using the DNIS Service application involves purchasing a set of phone numbers from Uniphore. This pool of phone numbers is managed by a third party telephony service.
Carrier Lookup Service. This is a method used to obtain information about a given phone number. The data returned includes whether the phone is a landline or a mobile device, and which carrier services it. The method is useful for determining whether the caller is a candidate for receiving a campaign SMS.

URL Shortening Services
Published Flows are automatically assigned a URL containing the direct path to the Flow. This URL may be copied and sent to users, embedded in SMS messages, etc.
The shorten URL option that is found in X‑Platform's Share dialogs enables shortening of the original URL, so you can send a 'friendly' link that uses fewer characters on the recipient device. The shorten URL capability uses a third party URL shortening service provider.
