Multi Environment Accounts: Overview
Every web-based X‑Platform account features Uniphore's Multi Environment capability, which enables a single account to support three distinct operating environments.
Multiple environments allow you to develop, test and release your Flows and Applications continuously and with high productivity.
Three out-of-the-box environments, each maintaining segregated resources and settings, are provided for each Multi Environment account:
![]() |
DEV – A dedicated environment for development. All new Flows are automatically published to this environment.
TEST – A dedicated environment for testing. TEST mode can be used to simulate either the PROD environment (for testing of new features in a production-like setting) or the DEV environment (for fixes of production defects).
PROD – The production environment. Flows and their resources may not be edited.
For example, without interfering with your current production environment, you can continue to develop new features and independently perform testing on a prior release. Similarly, in the event that production defects are discovered, they can be researched and fixed using a separate testing environment without interfering with new work that is currently being performed in the development environment.
To enable the complete separation of work described above, segregated resources (e.g., Flows, Applications, Session Variables) and other settings are maintained for each environment.
Other capabilities provided with Multi Environments include:
A dedicated Deployment Wizard that enables you to quickly transfer selected or complete resources between your account environments.
To support complete flexibility while using multiple environments, you can create environment-based Session Variables whose values change according to the current operating environment.
Full support for creating and managing Snapshots and Rollbacks in multiple environments.
