Using RPA Attended Automation Mode
Uniphore provides two automation modes for using Robotic Process Automation RPA capabilities on X‑Platform:
Attended Mode. This mode executes RPA Calls using a single Bot that resides on the local machine. It provides a way to ensure that all RPA activities are performed securely on the machine that is running the specified Agent application.
Note
In order to use Attended Mode, Uniphore's JBot must be installed on the local machine.
Unattended Mode. This mode executes RPA Calls using any Bot that is currently available for the account on the X‑Platform Server.
The RPA Monitor displays the automation mode being used during runtime in the Mode column of Bots View or Calls View.
The automation mode can be assigned to any Agent or Agent Assistant application for use with RPA Steps in its Flows:
From the Applications page of the X-Console, click the Application Name link for the Agent channel type you intent to use for RPA operations. The Details tab for the selected application is displayed.
Click on the Client Settings tab.
At the right upper corner of the page, click Edit. The fields become editable.
In the RPA Details Section, select the Attended mode from the RPA Automation Mode dropdown:
At the right upper corner of the page, click Save. A confirmation message is displayed and the Applications page is displayed.
Tip
You can optionally set or change the RPA Bot Timeout that will be used for the selected RPA Application Mode using the Timeout Settings tab of the selected application.
You can maintain multiple application channel types that use different automation modes for your account. For example, while an Agent application uses Attended mode, an Agent Assistant application can use Unattended mode.
