Considerations
General
If you make use of U-Capture Call Suppression or Record on Demand features, these will also be applied to your screen recordings – so screen recording is “muted” during call suppression, and screen recording data is discarded if applied via Record on Demand, resulting in a blank screen where recording is suppressed.
Screen recording video is available for replay and export once a call is complete. Live monitor of screen recorded video is currently not supported. Screen recording does not impact Live Monitor for call audio, see Listen to Live Calls.
This topic covers the Ekisa ScreenLogger configuration steps to add, remove, check the status of, and test agent's workstations for screen recording with U-Capture, but does not cover general ScreenLogger UI information, please refer to the Ekisa ScreenLogger documentation here for additional ScreenLogger information.
A few considerations regarding storage requirements:
As stated previously, screen recording video is stored on the Ekisa Server and streamed to the U-Capture Core Services on replay or export. All storage monitoring and management for screen recorded video should be independently managed on the Ekisa Server.
As a general guide, screen recording a single Workstation (single monitor, 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, medium activity, four frames per second capture rate) requires approximately 5MB per minute of screen recording.
The actual storage required and available on your Ekisa Server will be noted in your U-Capture Solution Design Document from Uniphore.
U-Capture Retention, Archive, and Storage Policies are not applied to screen recorded video. Ekisa ScreenLogger retention policies can be used instead (please refer to the Ekisa ScreenLogger documentation for details).
The Ekisa Player Module is not required for the U-Capture Screen Recording Feature.
Licensing
Your ScreenLogger software will be licensed for the total number of concurrent Workstations that can be recorded. To review your licenses, open the Ekisa ScreenLogger Management Studio on the Ekisa Server and select Tree View > ScreenLogger System. If you need to purchase additional licenses, please contact Uniphore for details.
Status Information
You can also use the Ekisa ScreenLogger Management Studio to check/monitor Agent and Workstation status information, if needed.
The Agent and Workstation icons in the Tree View panel on the left show basic status information
