Working with the Image Library
The Image Library page displays the complete image collection that is available for use in the account and enables an Admin to upload new or export selected images.
You access the Images library from the Resources menu of the X-Console.

Images in the library are organized by Image Name and Image Screen Size. Each row provides the following details for each image:
Column | Description/Notes |
---|---|
Name | The title assigned to the image. By default, the name is the same as the name of the image file. |
Available Screen Dimensions | Each column represents a unique screen size, as well as sample target device(s). A checkbox shown as selected in one of the columns indicates that the image is available for this screen. |
Default | Indicates whether a default image is assigned. The default image is used when no image is defined for a specific image size. |
Preview | An icon showing a preview of the image. |
Description | Notes or comments about the image (if any were defined). |
Category | A user defined identifier for the image. This parameter is used for search purposes. |
Last modification date | Date on which image details were last updated. |
You can upload several instances of an image, to correspond to different screen sizes. When more than one instance of an image exists in the library, the relevant screen sizes available are indicated by a selected checkbox in the grid.
Preparing Images
Before adding an image to the library, you need to size each instance of an image to fit the screen resolutions of target devices. When creating multiple-sized instances of an image, give each instance the same filename (e.g., ImageA.jpg) but place it in a unique file folder, named according to its intended screen size, as shown below:

Place all the same-sized images in its appropriate folder. For example, the instance of ImageA.jpg appropriate for the iPhone 3 is placed in the Screen 320x480 folder, the instance of ImageA.jpg appropriate for the iPad 3 is placed in the Screen 2048x153 folder, and so on.
When preparing images for upload, you can compress each folder as a unique .zip file in order to add multiple images to your account simultaneously. Verify that all the images contained in a folder are sized for the same screen resolution. For more information about uploading zipped image files, click here.
