This topic provides general information related to prerequisites, as well as system capabilities and considerations.

Prerequisites

In general, there are no additional U‑Capture system requirements specific to a SIPREC integration.

Note

The Call Direction metadata field is currently unavailable for the SIPREC integration. Also note that the metadata provided is telephony platform dependent and the mappings can be customised further using the U‑Capture COM Mapping features.

* Just to clarify a few features:

Single Call Through Hold: When a call is put on hold the recording appears as a single recording or is split into multiple calls. If supported by the SRC, this will be supported by the integration, otherwise this is not supported.

Device Enablement: Indicates if new devices are automatically enabled or disabled for recording. Configurable – default is automatically enabled.

Silence Suppression: Recording of silence is suppressed. Only supported for the G.711 Codec. Not supported for SRTP.

Note

Features highlighted Y above are supported by U‑Capture. Certain features may not be supported by the telephony platform. For example, a trunk gateway is unlikely to send internal calls to the Collector.

Codec Support

The table below shows the currently supported codecs and some key attributes. Attention should be paid to the bitrate and Mean Opinion Score (MOS). The bitrate indicates how much network bandwidth and storage will be required per mono RTP stream (double this figure for stereo). The MOS indicates the quality of the resulting audio. As a general rule:

higher compression = lower bitrate = lower MOS

Security

To ensure security of data on-the-wire, Uniphore supports Secure SIP and Secure RTP (SRTP). We recommend using Secure SIP in conjunction with SRTP to keep the SRTP keys from being compromised. This will have been configured during the installation process.

To provide a secure SIP interface, Uniphore uses the following supported protocol versions – TLS 1.3, TLS 1.2, DTLS 1.2.

Firewall Port Considerations

The following ports must be open on any firewall between the SRS and the SRC:

5060	TCP + UDP	SIP communication between SRC and SRS.
5061	TCP + UDP	Secure SIP communication between SRC and SRS.
25000 - 65535	UDP	RTP and RTCP communication between SRC and SRS. Even ports are used for RTP. Corresponding RTCP messages will be sent via the next higher odd numbered port.
