NLU Model Threshold
The NLU Model Threshold is used to improve the Intent detection. VA Admin controls the thresholds to identify Intents for each VA and language combination. The user input is sent to the NLU model and NLU model gives a confidence value which is used to detect the Intent. VA Admin use these settings to define the threshold values and based on the values, the system validates NLU model’s threshold limit. The VA Admin can set the lower and upper thresholds for the NLU model.
The default threshold limit is 30 (lower) and 70 (upper).
The threshold scale is between 0 and 100.
If the threshold is between 0 and lower limit, then the Intent cannot be detected.
If the threshold is between upper limit and 100, then the Intent can be detected.
The threshold is kept at a lower end when a specific VA or language does not have sufficient training data based on the process during the initial phases of deployment. The threshold need to be increased to improve Intent accuracy when the system receives false positives.
Caution
Do not make any changes to NLU Threshold Limit, when a call is in progress.
To configure NLU Threshold Limits, Move the slider pointer on NLU Threshold Limits scale to select the lower and upper limits of NLU range.
Warning
Do not click on the slider to select the NLU range.
